Job Summary

Teacher Assistant / Special Education – Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center Project Search Program. 190‑day position. Salary: $20,932 base salary (based on education and teacher assistant experience).

Qualifications

Minimum of sixty (60) academic credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education, or an associate degree (or higher), or a high school diploma or the equivalent with ready‑to‑work credentials.

A negative TB test result must be on file prior to starting work.

Additional qualifications may include:

• WIN Assessment – minimum of Silver: Level 4 or higher.
• Work Keys assessment – passing scores on three areas: Applied Mathematics (4), Reading for Information (4), Writing (4).
• ParaPro – passing score (minimum 456) on ParaPro, the state‑approved academic assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom teaching assistance.
• Provide supervision of students at all times.
• Provide students with daily care (e.g., toileting, diapering, feeding, etc.) as needed or required.
• Adhere to district dress code policies.
• Maintain required confidentiality in regard to students and school records.
• Positively support all facets of student growth and development.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty pounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
