As a Teacher Assistant, you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need at our School for Integrated Learning located in West Chester, PA.

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors and prevents negative behaviors to create safe, supportive living environments. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional, and life skills needed to flourish in their home community.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders preferred.
