As a Teacher Assistant, you will work with dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need at our School for Integrated Learning located in West Chester, PA.

The School for Integrated Learning focuses on building upon each student's unique strengths. It offers opportunities such as Special Olympics, talent shows, school dances, student government, peer mentoring, service learning, community gardening, and employment education. The goal is to create individualized educational opportunities that enable students to live positively, healthily, and socially-connected in their communities. The school serves students in grades K-12 with disabilities including behavioral and cognitive differences, autism, intellectual disabilities, and speech and language impairments. The curriculum aligns with Pennsylvania Core Standards and partner districts' curricula, emphasizing engagement and success through differentiated instruction and evidence-based strategies. Each student has an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), reviewed regularly by a multidisciplinary team including parents or guardians, focusing on skill development and positive behavior support (PW-PBIS).

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree required; Bachelor's in Special Education preferred.
Experience: Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders is preferred.
Devereux maintains a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and promotes a culture of reporting abuse, cooperating fully with authorities.
