Job Description
Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania seeks energetic and passionate Teacher Assistants to serve young children with complex needs. The Teacher Assistant will provide supervision, care, and instructional support for Approved Private School serving preschool-aged children.
Essential responsibilities include assisting the classroom teacher with all lessons and activities, providing personal care, monitoring goal progress, supervising children in the classroom and on the playground, and general support of children throughout the day. Teaching assistants support the classroom Teacher by assisting with implementation of IEPs, educational goals, implementing educational and therapeutic strategies as well as assisting with the classroom daily routine. The program follows a typical school year calendar plus a five-week summer program. Substitutes would work on an as-needed and available basis.
Strong communication skills, high energy, and desire to have fun with children in a team setting are a must! This position provides an excellent opportunity to be employed within a well-established program as part of our support team working with children with disabilities.
