Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12 is seeking a Teacher Assistant for Multiple Disabilities Support at the high school level. The role focuses on supporting instruction, implementing lesson plans, and fostering a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in First Aid and CPR.
• Experience with students with multiple disabilities is preferred.
• Comfort with mobility, positioning, personal care, and use of adaptive equipment to support student independence.
• Must have or obtain LIU-approved crisis management and intervention certificate (preferred).
• Must complete PA Dept. of Education mandated competencies within one year from hire.
• Twenty hours of professional development related to assignment each year.

Description

As a Teacher Assistant with the Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12, this role plays an essential part in enhancing students' educational experience by supporting instruction, helping implement lesson plans, and fostering a positive learning environment. It also helps maintain continuity in the educational program established by the teacher. Through dedication to student success and close collaboration with the teaching team, this position contributes to a dynamic and supportive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in First Aid and CPR
• Experience working with students with multiple disabilities is preferred.
• Candidate should be comfortable assisting with mobility, positioning, personal care, and the use of adaptive equipment, while promoting student independence and participation in daily activities.
• Must have or obtain and maintain current certificate in LIU-approved crisis management and intervention program, preferred
• Must obtain additional competency as mandated by PA Dept. of Education (within one year from date of hire)
• Must complete twenty (20) hours of professional development related to assignment each year
• Relevant experience working with students in an educational setting (preferred)
• Patience, flexibility, and positive attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff

Terms of Employment

Full-time, 7 hours/day, 188 days/year (follows the traditional school year schedule)

Salary

$18.91 per hour

(those assigned to Franklin Learning Center, Paradise, or the York Learning Center will earn an additional $0.25/hr.)
