Job summary

Tucson Unified School District is seeking an individual to assist teachers with classroom responsibilities in a temporary assignment for the 2026-2027 school year. Location is Drachman Montessori K-8 Magnet, working approximately 6 hours per day on a 9-month calendar.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, an acceptable AZ academic assessment or equivalent education, and at least one year of experience with youth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AZ Dept. of Education-approved Academic Assessment Test OR Associate’s degree OR 60 semester hours.
• One year of experience working with youth.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Completion of an AZ Dept. of Education-approved Academic Assessment Test
  OR
  Associate’s (or higher) degree
  OR
  Two-years (60 Semester-Hour credits) of post high school general education studies
• One year of experience working with youth
• Speak, read and write in English

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE

• Copy of diploma, transcript or test results must be submitted at time of hire.
• FBI fingerprint background check.
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
