Job summary

Volunteers of America–Greater New York is seeking a Teacher Assistant in the Bronx to support classroom instruction, document student progress, and help maintain student safety. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with individual or small-group instruction as planned with the teacher.
• Help develop instructional materials and use available resources.
• Record progress with anecdotal notes or discrete trial data for teachers.
• Plan instructional activities with the teacher in areas like languages, arts, crafts, and music.
• Escort students to buses and supervise them inside and outside the building.
• Communicate with parents verbally and in writing under teacher direction.
• Participate in staff development and attend team meetings as appropriate.
• Follow school policies and procedures.
