Job summary

Bond Health Staffing is seeking a dedicated Teacher's Assistant to support Special Education Teachers in a Brooklyn school-based setting. The TA will assist with classroom instruction, provide personal care and support to students, and help maintain a safe, organized learning environment to meet educational goals.

The role involves supervising students, assisting with lesson prep and documentation, and participating in staff trainings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Level I NYS Teacher Assistant Certification (or higher) required.
• Minimum six months of Teacher Assistant experience preferred.
• Registered with the NYS TEACH system.
• Board of Education fingerprint clearance (or willingness to obtain).
• Completion of Domestic Violence and Child Abuse workshops.
• Current pre-employment physical with required immunization documentation (PPD, MMR, TDAP, Varicella).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Special Education Teacher with classroom instruction and daily activities.
• Provide classroom, programmatic, and physical support to students as assigned.
• Supervise students in classrooms and other areas.
• Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organization, and clerical duties.
• Maintain attendance records, data collection, and progress documentation as required.
• Support students with toileting, feeding, dressing, and other personal care needs when necessary.
• Assist with student transportation between buses and the school building.
• Participate in field trips, gym, swimming, and other school activities as required.
• Attend staff meetings, case conferences, and required in-service trainings.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school policies and safety procedures.
