Job summary

Norwescap is a dedicated nonprofit in New Jersey delivering high-quality services to empower families and support children. This role offers 37.5 hours per week in a partial year schedule (approximately 43 weeks), with cross-training and opportunities to grow within a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will assist in classrooms, support IEPs, and help implement curriculum while lifting up at-risk populations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Working towards CDA to be completed within two years of hire (required).
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
• Experience working with young children (required).
• 2+ Years of experience in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
• Experience working with at-risk population and/or Head Start experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff.
• Implement active supervision strategies.
• Assist children with individual education plans.
• Assist in lesson planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessment for the classroom.
• Implement screenings and assessments.
• Data entry.
