Job summary

A Step Ahead Daycare is seeking a motivated Teacher Assistant to help create a warm, safe learning environment for Omaha children. You’ll work alongside experienced teachers, supporting activities and daily routines while learning child development basics.

No prior childcare experience is required; we provide paid training and ongoing coaching to help you grow into more advanced roles within our program.

What You’ll Do

As a Teacher Assistant, you'll help create a classroom where children feel safe, known, encouraged, and excited to learn.

• Play, read, talk, create, explore, laugh, and learn alongside children.
• Offer guidance, encouragement, patience, and plenty of smiles.
• Help children develop independence, friendships, creativity, confidence, and kindness.
• Support classroom routines and help maintain a safe, clean, organized environment.
• Support your fellow teachers and contribute to a culture of teamwork and mutual respect.
• Learn from experienced teachers and leaders while developing your own skills.
