Assistant Teacher | Early Childhood Education

Love working with kids? You might have just found your place.

At The Learning Experience, our Assistant Teachers do a whole lot more than "help out." They're an important part of the classroom team, building relationships, creating joyful learning experiences, and helping children feel safe, confident, and excited to come to school each day.

Whether you already have childcare experience or you're looking to turn your natural connection with children into a career, we're looking for someone who is dependable, energetic, kind, and ready to learn.

You’ll work alongside experienced teachers and a supportive leadership team while gaining hands‑on experience with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us
  • Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications
  • Health insurance for eligible employees
  • Paid time off
  • Childcare discounts
  • Professional development and training opportunities
  • Opportunities to grow into Lead Teacher and leadership roles
  • Established curriculum, classroom materials, and resources
  • A collaborative environment where you're part of a teaching team
  • A job where your work genuinely matters to children and families

Compensation:17.00-19.00

What You’ll Do

As an Assistant Teacher, you'll partner with Lead Teachers and center leadership to create classrooms where children can safely play, learn, explore, and grow.

You’ll:
  • Be an active part of the classroom. Engage with children during learning activities, play, meals, transitions, outdoor time, and daily routines.
  • Support our L.E.A.P. Curriculum® by helping teachers create fun, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
  • Keep children safe. Practice active supervision and help maintain a clean, organized, nurturing classroom environment.
  • Help with everyday care. Depending on the age group, this may include feeding, diapering, toileting, dressing, soothing, and other daily care routines.
  • Build relationships. Get to know the children in your care and help create a classroom where every child feels welcomed and supported.
  • Connect with families. Support positive, professional communication with parents and caregivers about their child's day.
  • Be a great teammate. Work collaboratively with teachers and leadership, communicate openly, accept feedback, and jump in where you're needed.
  • Keep growing. Participate in training and professional development while building your skills as an early childhood educator.
You Might Be a Great Fit If...

You don't need to know everything on Day One. We can teach skills. We're looking for the right attitude, reliability, and genuine desire to work with children.

Our ideal candidate:
  • Is at least 18 years old
  • Has a High School Diploma or GED
  • Has previous childcare experience or a genuine interest in building a career in early childhood education
  • Has ECE coursework or credentials, or is interested in pursuing them
  • Is dependable and understands that children and teammates count on them to be here
  • Is patient, positive, and able to stay composed in a busy classroom
  • Is comfortable receiving coaching and feedback
  • Enjoys being active and engaged rather than watching from the sidelines
  • Communicates professionally with coworkers and families
  • Can work collaboratively as part of a classroom team
  • Meets all applicable state and federal requirements, including required health and safety training, immunizations, and employment physical requirements
This Is a Hands-On Job

Working with young children means you're rarely sitting on the sidelines. You'll be playing on the floor, helping little hands, cleaning up spills, singing songs, heading outside, comforting big feelings, and probably hearing the same story more than once. That's part of the fun.

Essential responsibilities may include:
  • Feeding, diapering, dressing, grooming, and assisting with toileting
  • Cleaning and sanitizing classroom materials and spaces
  • Actively supervising children by both sight and sound
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Safely lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds
  • Reaching and stretching with hands and arms
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and getting up and down from the floor
  • Climbing or balancing when required for job duties
  • Using a stool or ladder when necessary
  • Participating in outdoor activities throughout the year, with temperatures potentially ranging from approximately 20°F with wind chill to 95°F
  • Maintaining the physical and mental alertness necessary for active supervision

The physical demands described above are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Reasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with applicable law.
