KVC Academy Cuba, part of KVC Health Systems, Inc., is hiring Teacher Assistants for its Cuba, Missouri location. The role supports students with special educational and behavioral needs, working with teachers and clinical staff to create a positive learning environment.

Salary is paid hourly ($18.00–$21.65) with a Monday–Friday schedule (7:30 AM–3:30 PM). Requirements include a high school diploma and relevant certification or coursework; prior experience with children is valued.

KVC Academy is seeking compassionate and dedicated Teacher Assistants to support students with special educational and behavioral needs. In this role, you'll work alongside teachers and clinical staff to create a positive learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

What You'll Do

• Support students in the classroom and during daily activities.
• Assist teachers with instructional and behavioral interventions.
• Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and meet one of the following requirements:

• Passed the ParaPro Assessment and can provide certification; OR
• Completed the Missouri 20-Hour Substitute Certificate Program and possess, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a valid Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate; OR
• Completed at least 36 college credit hours and possess, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a valid Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate.

Note: Employees required to obtain a Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate must do so within 60 days of hire. Failure to obtain certification within this timeframe will result in separation of employment in accordance with Missouri requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or coursework in education or a related field.
• Experience working with children in educational, behavioral health, or social service settings.
• Knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention, Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional and behavioral disorders, and child development.
