Job summary

Boulder Valley School District seeks a part-time Art Teacher for Douglass Elementary in Boulder, CO. The role is 0.667 FTE (26.68 hours/week) on a limited-term through 2/12/2027, with 186 instructional days across 12 months.

You will deliver art instruction, collaborate with grade-level teams, and support diverse learners in a vibrant K-5 setting. Requirements include a Colorado Art teaching license or active licensure in process and completion of BVSD online application; READ Act designation is

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process with appropriate endorsement in: Art(must upload license or in process documentation to application)
  • Completed and submitted BVSD online application
  • The READ Act SB 19-199 (PDF) and SB22-004 (PDF) requires that all Colorado teachers who provide literacy instruction to students must earn a “READ Act Designation” by meeting specific requirements. If you are hired for a position requiring the READ Act Designation, you will be required to obtain it. Additional information can be found here.
Preferred:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong artbackground with the ability to engage K-5 learners
  • Willingness to direct an extracurricular art group and grade level artistic programs

Salary Information:

Salary Placementvaries according experience and education.

*Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule).
