The program is two years, full-time and non-exempt, with annual renewals based on performance and program standing.
Qualifications
- Conferred Associate Degree (or 60 earned credits) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on all undergraduate coursework.
- Proof of acceptance or enrollment in a state-approved teacher preparation program with a partner institution.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate daily with the mentor teacher to plan, customize, and deliver lessons.
- Facilitate small-group intervention and differentiated instruction based on data and IEP/504 plans.
- Gradually assume increased instructional responsibilities over the two-year program cycle.
- Monitor student progress using classroom data and adjust pacing or support as needed.
- Maintain a safe, structured educational environment and uphold professional boundaries.
- Communicate with families regarding student performance and growth, following FERPA and district rules.
