Job summary

LearnWell is seeking a passionate teacher to join our New Jersey team for the school year. You will provide academic support to child and adolescent patients in behavioral health facilities, delivering daily lessons and individualized assistance while coordinating progress with treatment teams.

Position is full-time with travel between Newark, Jersey City, and Hoboken; class sizes typically 8–15 students; generous PTO and comprehensive benefits are included, with a focus on supporting students

Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
  • NJ State standard teaching license.
  • Comfortable working with K-12 students.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs.
  • Reliable Transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver daily lesson plans.
  • Provide individualized assistance to students.
  • Regularly communicate about student progress as needed.
  • Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and session reports.
  • Class sizes range from 8 to 15 students per class.
  • Travel between Newark, Jersey City and Hoboken as required.

For more than 26 years, we have provided on-site educational services in hospitals, helping these school-age patients continue their education during treatment and reintegrate successfully into the classroom. With a network of over 200 educators, we strive to make a positive impact for generations to come.

Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in New Jersey on a full-time basis for the school year. This unique position will involve working in fast-paced behavioral health facilities, providing academic support to child and adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.

Position entails either a 20 or 40-hour a week commitment, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-12:30pm or 7:30-4:00pm based on candidate preference. This position requires travel between Newark, Jersey City, and Hoboken.
