Teachers

Math, English, Social Studies, Science, Special Education – we are hiring certified teachers across all content areas and academy locations. If you hold a valid 6–12 or 9–12 teaching certification in Math, English, Social Studies, Special Education, or Science, we want to hear from you.

Our teaching openings are onsite positions; teachers are expected to be present at their assigned academy location during scheduled academy hours.

The Role

As a Teacher, you will serve as the primary instructional resource for our students, delivering competency-based content, supporting personalized learning, and guiding students toward graduation and post-secondary success. Instruction is delivered primarily through individualized coaching, small-group support, and targeted, data-driven interventions. Using academy dashboards and student data systems, you will proactively identify off-track students and provide timely academic support to keep them progressing toward graduation. You will work with a collaborative team to provide academic, social-emotional, and career-oriented support that empowers each learner’s journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Enrollment: Support new student enrollment through recruitment and engagement efforts. Assist with the development of Personalized Learning Plans for students.
• Retention: Serve as an advisor for assigned students by maintaining communication with learners and their support team. Monitor attendance, academic progress, and overall wellness to ensure consistent engagement and achievement.
• Academics: Plan and deliver content-area instruction in both individual and small group settings. Maintain ownership of student progress toward course completion, credit accumulation, and graduation readiness goals using formative and summative assessments and academy data systems. Analyze and use academic data to inform instruction and improve outcomes. Provide remediation and enrichment opportunities to address learning gaps and accelerate success. Participate in professional development, data meetings, and school/community events.
• Advocacy: Collaborate with the student support team to develop personalized learning pathways, transition strategies, and incentive plans. Represent the academy in community events and contribute to academy-wide initiatives. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary academy team to provide coordinated wraparound support. Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the academy’s mission.

What We’re Looking For

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.

Certification (REQUIRED): Valid state teaching certification for grades 6–12 or 9–12 in Math, English/ELA, Social Studies, Special Education, or Science.

Experience: 2+ years of teaching experience (high school preferred).

Skills: Strong communication, time management, instructional planning, and collaboration skills.

Passion: A deep commitment to helping at-risk youth succeed academically and personally.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in non-traditional or at-risk youth settings; bilingual (Spanish preferred); familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and alternative education models; experience with competency-based learning, instructional coaching, or project-based education; demonstrated ability to use learning management systems (LMS), student information systems (SIS), and data dashboards to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions.
