Job summary

Monroe Truck Equipment, Inc. in Monroe, WI, is seeking a Truck Equipment Installer/Upfitter to join our fabrication team. You will read job orders and blueprints, lay out procedures, operate shop machinery, and install welds, electrical components, bolts, and hydraulics on truck bodies.

• Must read and interpret simple instructions and blueprints.
• Basic math skills required for measurements and layouts.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to follow procedures precisely.
• Welding experience is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Place large truck equipment components as specified.
• Read computer job orders and lay out work procedures.
• Operate shop machines.
• Install units including welds, electrical components, bolts, and hydraulics on trucks.
• Drive commercial vehicles in/out of the shop and test-drive as needed.
• Modify equipment per blueprints.
• Troubleshoot for repairs and perform function tests when finished.

TRUCK EQUIPMENT INSTALLER/UPFITTER

Responsibilities:

• Places large truck equipment components in place as specified.
• Reads computer job orders, and job specifications and lays out plans for work procedures.
• Operates shop machines.
• Installs units such as welds, electrical components, bolts, and hydraulics on various areas of the truck.
• Drives commercial vehicles in and out of the shop as well as test-drives said vehicles as needed.
• Modify equipment, attachments, hydraulic systems, and other devices according to blueprints.
• Troubleshoots for repairs.
• Performs function tests when finished.

Qualification:

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to read and execute instructions as found on blueprints.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Welding experience is a plus, not required.
• Mechanical experience is a plus.
