Job summary

Volkert Inc. seeks a CEI Senior Project Engineer to support our Gulf Region, based in Brentwood or Nashville, TN. This role requires leadership of major road and bridge construction programs and a track record with TDOT projects.

You will direct construction engineering, manage budgets and schedules, develop policies, prepare proposals, mentor staff, and maintain strong client relationships to help win follow-on work while delivering safe, compliant projects.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree required.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Tennessee required.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in major road and bridge construction.
• TDOT experience and Region 3 preferred.
• Experience managing projects and personnel; ability to meet schedules and budgets.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; valid driver's license; MVR on file.

Responsibilities

• Direct construction engineering administration and inspection for projects/programs.
• Plan and organize the work of staff; develop/review project policies and procedures.
• Review programs for conformance with client standards.
• Identify and pursue future opportunities.
• Maintain professional relationships to facilitate project completion and future assignments.
• Prepare proposals and estimates for new projects.
• Review technical work and reports prepared by others.
• Manage projects to meet schedules and budgets.
• Periodically visit construction sites to perform inspections.
