Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer/Project Manager to support our Gulf Region in Mississippi and/or Tennessee. The role focuses on plan reviews, project management, and coordination for DOT and local municipal projects.

Qualified candidates will have a BS in Civil Engineering, 10+ years of roadway design experience, a PE license, and proficiency in OpenRoads (Geopak a plus). Strong leadership and client management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• 10+ years of roadway design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• DOT experience and ability to meet DOT standards, schedules, and budgets.
• Proficiency in OpenRoads; Geopak experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide plan review and project management for DOT and local municipal projects.
• Coordinate project activities, schedules, and reporting for assigned work.
• Prepare, issue, and track project documentation, including contracts and change orders.
• Develop correspondence and documentation for clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
• Support project financial processes, including invoices and purchase orders.
• Prepare and edit meeting minutes, reports, and presentations.
• Assist with submittals and bidding activities.
• Provide technical and administrative support to the project team.
• Support client relationships and business development with local municipalities.
