Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in San Antonio seeks an experienced Manager to lead Waste Program initiatives within Compliance and Enforcement. You will guide staff, set goals, and ensure program delivery across the region.

You will coordinate regulatory activities, engage with stakeholders, and advise the Regional Director on major issues. The role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a commitment to protecting public health and natural resources.

Qualifications

• Experience with state and federal waste regulations and enforcement.
• Experience as supervisor/manager or technical project coordinator, with experience in hiring, training, leading, assigning and prioritizing the work of others.
• Experience using Consolidated Compliance and Enforcement Data Systems (CCEDS), Business Objects Enterprise (BOE), and Central Registry.
• Experience interacting with elected officials, media and/or regulated community.
• Experience with developing and monitoring workplan commitments and goals.

As part of TCEQ Compliance and Enforcement, you would help ensure that those we regulate comply with the state's environmental laws. See details about what we do. This position is a member of our San Antonio Division.

Here's What You'll Be Doing

Required Education & Experience

Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department relevant to assignment.

OR

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.

Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. Work Schedule

Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ San Antonio Region Office.
