Beebe Healthcare in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware is seeking a phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. You will collect blood specimens and prepare them for testing, ensuring proper patient identification and accurate labeling.

You’ll review physician orders, obtain clinical information, perform EKGs as needed, and represent the lab with professionalism to patients and families. Entry-level candidates are welcome; competitive hourly pay and strong benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification within 1 year.
• Entry level graduates welcome; ability to communicate effectively and discreetly with patients, physicians, staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture of patients across all ages; prepares specimens for testing.
• Represents the laboratory to patients and their families in a positive way.
• Reviews physician requisitions, accurately places orders, and obtains clinical/demographic information.
• Verifies patient identification and correct specimen type for tests requested.
• Performs EKGs and other pre-surgical sample collections.

Overview

Collects and prepares blood specimens for laboratory testing, represents the laboratory to patients and their families. Reviews physician orders, obtains clinical and demographic information, prints draw lists, and verifies patient identification and correct specimen type for tests requested.
