Job summary

EY in the United States, Chicago area, seeks an Analyst for the Tax Technology & Transformation Data Team to leverage analytics, AI, and cloud tech to transform tax operations. You will work with tax, technology, and data professionals on enterprise data platforms and BI tools to deliver client-ready solutions.

Ideal candidates have a related degree, strong SQL/ETL, and experience with Python or R, plus familiarity with Power BI or Tableau and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Engineering, MIS or related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher required.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and data analysis concepts.
• Experience with ETL, data extraction, transformation and loading.
• Proficiency with Excel and data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python, R, or SQL.
• Interest in cloud data platforms and enterprise tech solutions.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid model with in-person presence 40-60% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Document business requirements, data definitions, processes, and technical specs.
• Support data collection, cleansing, validation, and transformations across data sources.
• Work with structured and unstructured data to identify trends and data quality issues.
• Design and implement data pipelines and automation to improve efficiency.
• Assist with data migration and integration across ERP, finance, and tax systems.
• Perform data profiling, reconciliation, and quality analyses.
• Support AI and advanced analytics initiatives, including ML/GenAI use cases.
• Develop dashboards and visualizations to support decision making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of tax, data engineers, and stakeholders.
• Research emerging technologies in Data & Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, Azure DP, Snowflake, Databricks, AI.
