Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, PC is seeking a Tax Supervisor to lead all aspects of tax engagements from planning to completion in our New York City office. You will supervise staff, mentor colleagues, and build strong client relationships while delivering comprehensive tax services across corporate, partnership, and individual returns.

The role requires a CPA (or active pursuit) with 4+ years in public accounting and proven leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• Licensed CPA, or pursuing CPA certification with parts passed.
• Masters of Science in Taxation is preferred but not required.
• At least 4 years of public accounting experience.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills; ability to manage multiple engagements.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and training skills; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex C corp., S corp. and partnership income tax returns.
• Prepare high net worth individual returns.
• Review mid-level complexity C/S corporation and partnership tax returns.
• Review mid-level complexity individual tax returns.
• Research and draft memoranda on complex tax matters.
• Identify tax planning opportunities.
• Handle and resolve tax controversies.
• Train and supervise staff accountants.

In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance.
