Job summary

CBIZ is seeking an experienced Tax Senior to supervise all aspects of tax engagements for clients in the United States. The role focuses on planning, budgeting, and delivering high-quality tax services while mentoring junior staff.

The position requires a strong understanding of client business, ability to manage deadlines, and effective communication across levels. Travel may be required as part of client service delivery and development activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 1 year supervisory experience preferred
  • CPA candidates preferred
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all aspects of tax engagements for clients including status updates to engagement managers and adherence to quality control standards
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the client's business and contribute to analysis and planning of client engagements
  • Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete tasks within the time requested; explain variances when needed
  • Achieve charge hour goals
  • Review engagement team members accounting, tax or auditing work and provide constructive feedback
  • Supervise and guide team members on engagements to foster collaboration
  • Train and mentor engagement team members, supporting their development
  • Assist in the client billing process with Managers, Directors or Managing Directors
  • Identify industry areas of specialization and develop skills and expertise
  • Leverage industry knowledge to blend cross-service opportunities
  • Participate in practice development activities and refer potential engagements
  • Execute administrative duties as assigned
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
