Job summary

Tiger Search Group is seeking an experienced Accountant to maintain client financial records, prepare tax returns, and oversee financial statements. The role requires strong GAAP knowledge and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.

This in-office position in Melville, NY demands 5 days on-site. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 4–7+ years of relevant experience, with proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and bank accounts.
• Prepare and review individual and business tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120).
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for clients.
• Oversee maintenance of accurate financial records for clients.
• Collaborate with the finance team to resolve issues and ensure data integrity.
• Stay up-to-date on accounting standards and regulations and implement changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and bank accounts
• Prepare and review both individual and business tax returns including 1040, 1065 and 1120
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients
• Collaborate with other members of the finance team to resolve any issues and ensure the integrity of financial information
• Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards and regulations and implement any necessary changes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Minimum of 4-7+ years of relevant experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and tax compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to clients
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial reporting software, QuickBooks a plus
