Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, PC is seeking a Tax Supervisor to join our Chicago or New Jersey offices, leading complex tax work and guiding a team of staff accountants while delivering outstanding client service.

You will prepare and review tax returns for C corps, S corps, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals, identify planning opportunities, and handle tax controversies as needed. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
• Licensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification with parts passed.
• Master’s of Science in Taxation is preferred but not required.
• At least 4 years of public accounting experience.
• Excellent client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects.
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Job description

Withum’s Tax Services Group is made up of a brilliant team of tax specialists that work to ensure tax reporting obligations are met accurately and timely while minimizing or deferring the payment of taxes. The Tax Supervisor role will be based out of one of our offices in Lincolnshire, IL; East Brunswick, NJ; Princeton, NJ; Red Bank, NJ; or Whippany, NJ, and you will work alongside seasoned CPAs and industry leaders.

The compensation ranges for this position are noted below. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications. Chicago – $100,000 – $135,000

New Jersey – $85,000 – $175,000
