Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) invites applications for a Tax Summer Intern in Illinois. The role supports the tax team across federal, state, local, and international aspects, working with audits, tax returns, and research.

The ideal candidate is a current student majoring in Accounting, Finance, or Business with a 3.0 GPA and eligibility to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. The program offers professional exposure and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled college student majoring in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 and be eligible to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sales and income tax audits, gathering and summarizing information and supporting schedules.
• Review customer tax certificates in CertCapture and ensure proper handling.
• Research inquiries from tax authorities and prepare responses.
• Work with tax team and outside firms on filing tax returns and deadlines.
• Maintain tax licenses and permits for PCA locations.
• Prepare state and local income tax apportionment work papers.
• Perform data analytics in Excel, Corptax and other software used for tax returns.
• Assist with tax incentives and filings.
• Prepare and summarize research on tax issues as needed.
