Job summary

Krutilla & Associates in Oakland, CA, is seeking qualified candidates to prepare tax returns on a seasonal, full-time, or part-time basis. Team-based environment with opportunities to advise clients on tax planning ideas and to obtain documents needed for returns.

As a Tax Staff Associate you will handle individual, partnership, corporate, and trust returns, perform accounting calculations, conduct online tax research, and develop tax planning skills while coordinating with IRS/state inquiries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (including Word and proficiency in Excel).
• General knowledge of accounting principles.
• Outstanding organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Fast learner, detail-oriented, and professional.
• Able to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Able to work both in a team environment and independently.
• Working towards completion of CPA or EA exam preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of Individual, Partnership, Corporate, and/or Trust tax returns
• Accounting calculations needed to prepare tax returns and quarterly estimates
• Perform online tax research
• Development of general technical and tax planning skills
• Assist with inquiries from the IRS and state tax authorities
