Job summary

frost is seeking a Tax Staff to work with clients across industries, building skills under guidance from experienced staff and management. You will grow professionally, solve problems with critical thinking, and develop relationships as you advance in tax.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of GAAP and other accounting-related topics.
  • Ability to work extended hours during the busy season.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and apply tax knowledge to individual returns (e.g., 1040) and less complex business returns (e.g., 1120).
  • Prepare a completed and organized tax file, including appropriate supporting documentation for the tax return.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the tax levels of authorities, legal precedents, rulings, and regulations.
  • Anticipate problems and issues and address them proactively.
  • Communicate effectively, listen actively, and solve problems, including asking clarifying questions.
  • Comply with firm practice management procedures and systems.
  • Demonstrate understanding of fundamental principles of tax law.
  • Develop positive working relationships with clients.
  • Demonstrate understanding of computer systems used in the tax preparation process.
  • Provide research support to a transaction review process.
