Reporting to the Director of Finance & Accounting, this role handles tax preparation, planning, and compliance for Parsonex Enterprises and its affiliates; prepares returns for a range of private funds; and partners with our RIA and Wealth Management team on client tax planning. The role also works alongside our Technology team to build proprietary, AI-enabled tax systems that make the work more efficient and scalable.

Primary Functions
  • Prepare and file federal and state partnership returns and investor K-1s for a range of private funds, including Qualified Opportunity Zone Funds with diverse holdings, Special Situations Funds with unique investment strategies, and private funds holding public securities.
  • Track partner capital accounts, allocations, and basis, and support fund-level tax planning and year-end reporting.
Corporate tax
  • Manage tax preparation, planning, and compliance for Parsonex Enterprises and its affiliates, including federal, state, and local filings.
  • Research and implement tax strategies that improve tax efficiency and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor changes in tax law and regulation and assess their impact on the firm, its funds, and its clients.
Wealth management client support
  • Collaborate with the RIA and Wealth Management team to provide tax planning, advice, and filing for select high-net-worth clients as part of their broader financial plans.
  • Prepare and review individual returns and support clients on the tax consequences of investment, private equity, and estate planning decisions.
  • Partner with the Technology team to design and refine proprietary AI/ML systems for tax processes.
  • Contribute to scalable, efficient tax workflows and documentation that support the organization’s growth.
Finance team collaboration
  • Support broader accounting initiatives, including annual 1099 filings, audit preparation, and account reconciliations.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable internal resource for tax-related questions and strategic planning across the company.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA license, or significant progress toward it, strongly preferred.
  • 3–7 years of experience in private fund tax, partnership taxation, corporate tax compliance, or wealth management tax planning; public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of partnership tax (Subchapter K), including capital accounts, allocations, and K-1 reporting.
  • Experience with professional tax software and cloud accounting platforms; CCH & QuickBooks Online experience is a plus.
  • Interest in leveraging technology and contributing to process improvement.
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong analytical and research skills with a resourceful, problem-solving mindset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the organization to manage multiple entities, deadlines, and extensions at once.
  • A strong work ethic and a desire to take ownership of work from start to finish.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain tax concepts to colleagues, advisors, and clients.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives on variety and challenge in a fast-paced environment.
We Offer
  • Diverse, high-impact tax work spanning private funds, corporate tax, and wealth management clients.
  • The opportunity to help build cutting-edge proprietary AI/ML tax systems.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and 401(k).
  • Professional development and a clear path for career advancement.
  • A dynamic, supportive, and collaborative work environment.
