Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a Tax Software Engineering Lead to manage and advance a portfolio of tax-related applications supporting business operations and compliance. You will bridge complex tax requirements with modern tech, shaping our tax technology landscape and driving automation.

Reporting to Finance Solutions leadership, you will lead cross-functional teams, ensure system reliability, and push for AI/ML integrations to reduce manual effort while maintaining security and regulatory

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in application management, ideally in tax or financial services environments.
Hands-on experience with Java, Angular, SQL, and MuleSoft/API Gateway platforms.
Experience leading application development and support teams, with strong communication skills for both technical and business audiences.
Familiarity with cloud environments, mainframe systems, integration technologies, and information security and data privacy frameworks.
The ability to adapt existing frameworks to meet business needs while maintaining momentum and resolving technical challenges.

Responsibilities

Lead the management of internally developed and commercial tax applications, ensuring they meet business needs, compliance standards, and security requirements.
Drive continuous improvement efforts that reduce manual work, expand automation, and introduce AI/ML capabilities, including LLMs, into workflows.
Support operational excellence across the full application lifecycle, including runbooks, disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and performance monitoring.
Partner with AMS teams on post-production support and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver tax technology initiatives successfully.
Solve complex issues across application enhancements, batch processes, data feeds, and system integrations.
Own and support key systems such as Tax Credit Management Systems, Vertex, VantagePoint, Collection Tax management Systems, Premium Pro and related tax platforms, helping ensure they remain robust and compliant.
