Our EY EDGE practice provides specialized tax technical services to US and global clients, operating in a technical environment with deep process and service delivery expertise that distinguishes EY in the marketplace.

The Opportunity

As a Tax Technology and Transformation Manager, you will manage and deliver a variety of tax technology solutions and process improvements aimed at enhancing client tax operations’ efficiency and effectiveness. Responsibilities include integrating tax and financial systems, implementing tax software tools, and developing automated tax processes.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Manage large-scale managed services programs and tax transformation projects.
  • Lead digital tax transformation initiatives.
  • Oversee tax technology strategy and planning.
  • Implement and configure direct and indirect tax systems.
  • Review tax analytics and reporting, suggesting improvements.
  • Advise on tax operating model transformation.
  • Develop and deploy custom tax systems.
  • Manage projects in demanding environments, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Identify operational improvements in tax functions, including technology and process controls.
  • Enhance tax strategies and develop relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Understand key tax processes, technology, data, and risks to mitigate issues and improve quality.
Skills and Attributes for Success
  • Ownership of tasks, including documentation, configuration, testing, debugging, and project profitability.
  • Automation of manual tasks using existing and emerging technologies.
  • Understanding dependency analyses across multiple work streams.
  • Embedding tax requirements into financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
  • Developing test cases and debugging in existing systems.
  • Producing efficient, standards-based code.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Economics, or a related field; or a master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • At least five years of relevant experience, or 2-3 years with a master's degree.
  • Certifications such as CPA, JD, Six Sigma, or PMP are required.
  • Exposure to financial services, tax software development, or implementation is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong leadership, attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate across functions and develop client relationships.
  • Knowledge of tax technology solutions (e.g., CorpTax, ONESOURCE).
  • Experience with custom application development and ERP systems.
