Job summary

Brown Edwards & Company in Virginia is seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join our team. This role provides leadership across multiple engagements, overseeing managers and teams, and serving as trusted advisors to clients and Firm leadership.

You will guide complex tax planning, reviews, and issue resolution while maintaining compliance with tax laws and Firm standards, contributing to growth and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• CPA designation preferred or equivalent.
• Strong leadership, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical oversight across multiple tax engagements and client relationships.
• Perform high‑level and quality reviews of complex tax returns and workpapers.
• Advise clients and engagement teams on complex tax planning, compliance, and issue resolution.
• Serve as escalation resource to Managers and engagement teams on high‑risk tax issues.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and firm standards across portfolios.
• Develop Managers through feedback and performance guidance.
