Job summary

A Recognized Professional Services Firm in Irvine, CA seeks a Tax Senior to lead the execution and delivery of complex tax compliance and advisory engagements. You will prepare sophisticated returns for various entities and mentor junior staff.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Accounting (Master of Tax preferred), 3–5 years of public accounting tax experience, CPA or progress toward CPA, and strong research and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master of Tax preferred).
• 3–5 years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting firm.
• CPA license or significant progress toward CPA certification.
• Strong proficiency in corporate, individual, and partnership taxation principles and compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly motivated, organized, with ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and standard tax software (Lacerte, ProSystem, QuickBooks).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex tax returns for entities including corporations, high-net-worth individuals, and partnerships.
• Conduct advanced federal and state tax research with well-reasoned conclusions.
• Serve as a technical resource for Tax Associates and escalate issues to Manager.
• Supervise and train Tax Associates, review work for accuracy.
• Engage with clients to understand their business and provide holistic tax advisory guidance.
