Job summary

Citrin Cooperman is seeking a Tax Senior in the Business Advisory Solutions (BAS) Department to join our Cleveland, OH or Columbus, OH team. As a BAS Tax Senior, you will be responsible for tax closings, closing of books, and tax preparation, and you will assist with planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up.

You will apply an intermediate understanding of accounting and reporting standards, research accounting issues, and work with client records and software including QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field required.
• Master's in Taxation preferred.
• CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
• 3+ years of experience gained within a public accounting firm required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently, but also work well with others.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
• Knowledge of CCH Axcess, CaseWare, and Go File Room is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of tax closings, closing of books, and tax preparation.
• Assist with planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up coordination.
• Intermediate understanding of accounting and reporting standards, research accounting issues.
• Experience with reporting temporary and permanent book/tax differences.
• Understanding of sales tax, payroll tax returns and 1099s.
• Perform tax research to resolve issues.
• Analyze and review client accounting records and financial statements.
• Work with client accounting records and software including QuickBooks.
• Review and verify journal entries and accounting classifications.
• Communicate effectively with clients and maintain strong client relationships.
• Mentor and train lighter level staff.
• Communicate with Manager or Director on work status.
