Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) is seeking a Tax Senior Associate to join our Heartland CLA Region, with locations including Peoria IL. You will lead tax engagements, collaborate with clients on advisory services, and mentor junior staff.

Ideal candidates have a CPA license or eligibility, 2+ years in public accounting, and a passion for delivering high-quality client service in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active CPA license (or EA for Tax positions) or eligible to sit for CPA exams.
• At least 2 years’ experience as an associate in public accounting.
• Desire to grow within a supportive firm and develop career goals.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and teamwork orientation.
• Passion for public accounting and client service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, supervise, and review individual, C corporation, S corporation, and partnership engagements.
• Partner with clients to provide customized tax advisory services and collaborate with tax team members on complex issues.
• Focus on engagement management and operational excellence.
• Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
• Expand technical and professional knowledge through client interactions, self-study, and training opportunities.
• Work with a diverse client base across Heartland CLA Region.

How you’ll create opportunities in this Tax Senior Associate role:

• Prepare, supervise, and review individual, C corporation, S corporation, and partnership engagements.
• Partner with clients to provide customized tax advisory services and work closely with other tax team members to identify and research complex tax issues.
• Focus on engagement management and operational excellence.
• Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
• Expand your technical and professional knowledge through greater exposure to client interactions, regular self-study, and training opportunities.

What You Will Need

• You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• You have an active CPA license (or EA for Tax positions) or are eligible to sit for the CPA exams and meet the 150-credit requirement to obtain a CPA license.
• You have at least 2 years’ experience as an associate in public accounting.
