Job summary

UHY-US in Sterling Heights, MI seeks a Tax Senior Accountant to prepare financial information for clients, including individual and business tax returns, while supervising staff and delivering high-quality work.

You will lead tax engagements, perform research, communicate with clients, ensure compliance with federal/state laws, and collaborate with partners to provide proactive tax planning and strong service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of relevant tax/accounting experience.
• Experience with listed tax software is preferred.
• Active CPA or Enrolled Agent licensure encouraged; ongoing CPE compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of tax engagements, including planning, preparation, and review of various tax returns.
• Collaborate with partners and managers to ensure seamless client service delivery.
• Conduct tax research and develop proactive planning strategies for clients.
• Explain complex tax concepts to clients and prepare presentations.
• Review tax returns for accuracy and regulatory compliance; monitor deadlines.
• Supervise and mentor tax staff to ensure quality of work.
• Identify opportunities to improve tax workflows and processes.
