We are the proven leader in the fan and ventilation market, providing innovative and energy efficient solutions to our business partners and customers.ZIEHL-ABEGG is looking for a results-oriented Tax Senior, who will be responsible for supporting and executing corporate tax compliance and tax accounting activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and applicable international tax regulations. This role prepares and assists with tax filings, tax provisions, audits, reconciliations, and research while identifying opportunities to improve tax processes and efficiencies. The Tax Senior works closely with Accounting, Finance, and external tax advisors to support accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance.
Job Duties:
- Prepare and support federal, state, local, and applicable international tax compliance activities, including tax returns and related filings.
- Prepare and maintain income tax, sales and use tax, property tax, franchise tax, and other applicable tax filings and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and support quarterly and annual tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and related financial statement information.
- Assist with tax audits, inquiries, and examinations conducted by governmental agencies.
- Research tax laws, regulations, and accounting guidance and communicate relevant findings to the Tax Manager and other appropriate stakeholders.
- Assist with tax planning and analysis initiatives to identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency and manage tax exposure.
- Support tax accounting processes and ensure accurate application of GAAP and applicable tax reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Procurement, Human Resources, and external advisors on tax-related matters.
- Assist in reviewing business transactions, contracts, and other activities to identify tax implications and compliance requirements.
- Prepare tax account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing tax-related information and analysis.
- Maintain accurate tax records, workpapers, documentation, and internal controls to support compliance and audit readiness.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness within the tax function.
- Assist with coordination and communication with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare tax-related reports, analyses, and presentations for management as requested.
- Provide support and guidance to internal departments regarding tax compliance requirements and best practices.
- Assist with special projects, business expansions, acquisitions, and other tax-related initiatives as assigned.
- Stay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting guidance relevant to the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax required.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance and audits preferred.
- International tax experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and ASC 740 tax accounting requirements.
- Experience preparing or supporting tax provisions and deferred tax calculations.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and tax software applications.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external advisors.
