Abacus Group is assisting a Red Bank, NJ public accounting firm in seeking a Tax Senior to join their team. The role focuses on complex tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals, with an emphasis on planning opportunities and compliance.

The candidate will supervise staff, conduct tax research, and support tax controversy management, in a hybrid office/remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 2+ years of public accounting experience.
• Knowledge of accounting concepts, tax return prep and tax law.
• Excellent communication skills.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex C corp., S corp., and partnership income tax returns
• Compile high net worth individual tax returns
• Review C corp., S corp., and partnership income tax returns
• Analyze complex individual tax returns
• Research and draft memoranda involving tax matters
• Identify and recommend tax planning opportunities
• Manage and resolve tax controversies
• Train and supervise all staff accountants
