Job summary

Ascend seeks a talented Tax Senior to join a fast-growing advisory firm in a hybrid work setup. You will prepare and review complex individual tax returns and coordinate with client support staff while leveraging strong tax knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in public accounting with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and demonstrates attention to detail and integrity. Opportunities for growth and professional development are emphasized.

• 3+ years with a public accounting firm preparing and reviewing individual and business income tax returns.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Strong attention to detail and professional integrity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or review individual tax returns depending on client complexity.
• Review tax information supplied by the client and obtain open items if necessary.
• Assist in ongoing tax planning and tax projections in accordance with firm standards.
• Communicate with the team on client issues that arise.
• Research tax law updates.
• Research tax issues, provide recommendations, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The Role

We’re looking for a talented and motivated Tax Senior to join a fast-growing, innovative professional advisory firm working with individuals and closely held businesses. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, entrepreneurial CPA with a team mentality and strong technical accounting and tax knowledge. You will primarily be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex individual tax returns and coordinating directly with client support staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or reviewindividual tax returns depending on client complexity
• Review tax information supplied by the client and obtain open items if necessary
• Assist in ongoing tax planning and tax projections in accordance with firm and professional standards as directed by engagement leaders
• Communicate efficiently and effectively with our team on client issues that arise
• Research tax law updates
• Research tax issues, provide recommendations to the team, and ensure compliance with regulations

Requirements

• 3+ years with a public accounting firm preparing and reviewing individual and business income tax returns
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Strong attention to detail
• Integrity within a professional environment

Preferences

• Experience with CCH Axcess tax, CCH Pfx Engagement, and QuickBooks
• Active CPA or EA
