A well-established public accounting firm is seeking a dedicated Senior Tax Associate to join its growing tax team. This position will work closely with senior leaders to deliver exceptional service, provide proactive client support, and take ownership of increasingly complex tax engagements.
The role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients, entities, and industries, alongside opportunities to develop technical expertise and progress professionally within the firm.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for complex tax engagements from preparation through completion.
- Train, support, and supervise associates assigned to engagements.
- Work with a diverse range of entities, clients, and industries.
- Research technical tax issues as they arise.
- Exercise professional judgment when addressing technical matters.
- Develop an area of tax expertise, with the opportunity to progress into reviewing returns within that specialty.
- Assist with quarterly and annual tax planning, projections, and estimated tax calculations.
- Manage client expectations, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and proactively resolve issues.
Skills & Experience
- Experience reviewing client tax information for completeness and accuracy.
- Ability to prepare Individual, C-Corporation, S-Corporation, Partnership, and Trust tax returns ranging from simple to moderately complex.
- Working knowledge of tax regulations and the ability to respond to client questions under appropriate supervision.
- Experience conducting tax research projects.
- Ability to make tax adjustments to client financial statements and prepare supporting workpapers.
- Understanding of M-1 and M-3 adjustments.
- Broad understanding of special allocations and basis tracking.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
Qualifications
- 2-3+ years of tax preparation experience within public accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, or a related degree with relevant accounting and taxation coursework.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
