Reports To: Manager / Principal / Partner
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Tax Accountant with 5–10 years of public accounting experience to join our team. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality service and guidance. A successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, leadership, technical proficiency, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of complex tax returns (individual, corporate, partnership, trust and nonprofit)
- Supervise, mentor and train staff, providing constructive feedback and technical guidance
- Conduct technical research on complex tax and accounting issues and prepare memoranda as needed
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, maintaining strong, professional relationships
- Monitor engagement budgets, timelines and deliverables to ensure efficient project completion
- Stay current with evolving tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory changes
- Identify opportunities for value-added services and contribute to the firm’s growth and client retention
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s in Accounting or Tax preferred)
- CPA license preferred or in active pursuit
- 5–10 years of recent experience in a public accounting firm
- Strong technical knowledge of tax regulations
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex engagements and lead teams
- Proficient in accounting and tax software (e.g., UltraTax, QuickBooks, etc.)
- Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
- Professional presence and ability to work directly with clients
- Committed to continuous learning and leadership development
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods, including evenings and weekends
