Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an entry-level tax assistant to support the tax interview process and help ensure high-quality service for clients in New Jersey.

You will enter client and W-2 data, assemble returns, obtain signatures, and review the result with clients in a courteous, accurate manner. The role emphasizes clear communication, basic math and reading skills, and familiarity with Windows-based programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reading and math skills to begin and finish the tax interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply

Responsibilities

• Assist with the start of the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program.
• Assist with the closing of the interview by assembling the tax return, obtaining signatures, reviewing the finished product with the client, and completing bookkeeping procedures
• Ensure all HR Block clients are receiving superior service.
• All other duties as assigned
