Job summary

Lyneer Executive Search Strategy is seeking a Tax Reporting Lead Analyst for a private wealth management firm in New Jersey. The role focuses on nonresident alien withholding and information reporting, with primary ownership of Forms 1042 and 1042-S.

This is a replacement hire and offers a hybrid schedule with three days in the office. You will be the technical expert on withholding and reporting, collaborating with operations and technology to enhance systems and automate processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in finance/tax.
• Hands-on experience with Form 1042 and 1042-S and related reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the Form 1042-S process end to end: data validation, reconciliation, filing, corrections and amendments.
• Reconcile Form 1042 to 1042-S, withholding liabilities, federal tax deposits and IRS transcripts.
• Review Forms W-8 for validity, recipient status, withholding rates and treaty eligibility.
• Advise on Chapter 3 and FATCA treatment of corporate actions, income distributions and cross-border transactions.
• Track regulatory changes and work with operations and technology on system enhancements, testing and automation.
• Support year-end reporting on Forms 1099, 1099-R and 5498.
