Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Professional to assist clients with diverse tax needs and provide expert tax training to ensure success.

You will serve clients, conduct tax interviews via video, phone, or email, and prepare complete and accurate returns while supporting franchise growth and client retention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• CPA or EA certification preferred.
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership).
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax with 5+ years.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools – video, phone, chat, email.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Provide clients with IRS support.
• All certification levels can provide tax notice services.
• Circular 230 associates can provide audit representation.
• Mentor and support teammates.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
• Experience with tax planning and audit support
• Sales and/or marketing experience

Your Expertise

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment2
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience completing individual returns
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
• Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher
