Job summary

H&R Block in Mississippi is seeking a seasonal, experienced Tax Professional to help clients with diverse tax needs. You will receive advanced tax training and work with a dedicated team to build strong client relationships that grow each year.

The role involves conducting tax interviews (in person and virtually), preparing returns, and assisting with growth and IRS-related questions while maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification.
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership).
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax.
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews.
• Experience with tax planning and audit support.
• Sales and/or marketing experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools – video, phone, chat, email.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Provide clients with IRS support.
• Mentor and support teammates.
• All certification levels can provide tax notice services.
• Circular 230 associates can provide audit representation.

Your Expertise

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment2


• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax


• Experience completing individual returns


• Experience working in a fast-paced environment


• Comfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat


• Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing


• Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements


• High school diploma / equivalent or higher
