Job summary

H&R Block in Red Oak, IA is seeking an entry-level team member to assist with the tax interview process and help clients complete their returns. You will input client and W-2 information into the tax program, supporting the tax preparation team and ensuring accuracy and client satisfaction.

We value clear communication, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. No prior tax experience is required, but strong reading and math skills and the ability to work well with clients are essential

Responsibilities

• Enter client and W-2 information into the tax program to begin interviews.
• Assemble the tax return at interview closure, obtain signatures, and review with the client.
• Complete bookkeeping procedures as part of the closing process.
• Provide superior service to all H&R Block clients and perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring To The Team

• Assist with the beginning of the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program
• Assist with the closing of the interview by assembling the tax return, obtaining required signatures, reviewing the finished product with the client, and completing bookkeeping procedures
• Ensure all H&R Block clients are receiving superior service
• All other duties as assigned

Your Expertise

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs
• Additional state and local requirements may apply

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional course work in math, accounting, or finance
