Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. in Onley, Virginia is seeking a tax assistant to help start and finish tax interviews, entering client and W-2 data into the tax program and assembling returns for client review.

You will ensure accurate, timely tax preparation and provide superior service, with duties expanding as needed during busy seasons.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Enter client and W-2 information into the tax program to begin the interview.
• Assemble the tax return, obtain required signatures, review the finished product with the client, and complete bookkeeping procedures.
• Ensure all H&R Block clients are receiving superior service.
• All other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring to the Team
