Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a detail-oriented teammate to help with tax interviews, enter client data, and assist in preparing returns at a local franchise office.

You will work with clients to ensure accurate information, verify documents, and contribute to a smooth tax season. Prior Windows-based program experience and strong reading/math skills are desirable, with excellent communication as essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Reading and math skills needed to complete tax interviews.
• Ability to communicate clearly in person and by phone.
• Familiarity with Windows-based tax software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter client and W-2 information into the tax program at the interview start.
• Assemble the tax return and obtain required signatures at interview end.
• Review the finished product with the client and complete bookkeeping procedures.
• Maintain superior service for all H&R Block clients.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• Assist with the beginning of the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program
• Assist with the closing of the interview by assembling the tax return, obtaining required signatures, reviewing the finished product with the client, and completing bookkeeping procedures
• Ensure all H&R Block clients are receiving superior service
• All other duties as assigned

Your Expertise

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs
• Additional state and local requirements may apply

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional course work in math, accounting, or finance
