Job summary

H&R Block in Illinois is seeking a entry-level associate to assist with tax interviews, data entry, and client service. You’ll help start the interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program and support the team throughout the tax season.

The role emphasizes accuracy, communication, and basic math skills, with training provided. A high school diploma is required, and familiarity with Windows-based programs is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Enter client and W-2 information into the tax program to start the tax interview.
• Assemble the tax return, obtain signatures, review the finished product with the client, and complete bookkeeping procedures.
• Ensure all H&R Block clients are receiving superior service.
• All other duties as assigned.
